Why give to SSG?

Small gifts, big doors opened.

We're a small, local organisation, so your support makes a difference you can see. It helps us say yes to more young people, more schools and more communities.

It goes straight into sessions

Your gift turns into robotics kits, laptops, materials and time with mentors: the things young people actually use in the room.

Local and close to the ground

We work in Greater Manchester communities and listen to what young people and families ask for, like we did in Middleton.

Skills that open doors

Digital, STEM, enterprise and career skills build confidence now and open doors to college, training and work later.

Trusted adults, safely

Young people learn alongside mentors who are checked, trained and supported, with safeguarding at the heart of everything.

FAQs

Questions about giving

Can I give monthly?
Yes. Choose Monthly in the donation box. Regular gifts help us plan sessions ahead, so they go a long way.
Can I add Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a government top-up that only registered charities can claim. SSG is a registered community interest company (CIC), not a charity, so Gift Aid can't be added. Every pound you give still goes towards our work with young people.
Can I get tax back on my donation?
No. Donation tax relief, including Gift Aid, payroll giving and business tax relief, only applies to registered charities. Because SSG is a CIC, donations to us don't reduce your own tax bill or your company's. You give because you believe in the work, and we'll make sure it counts.
Can my business sponsor SSG instead?
Yes. A sponsorship is a business arrangement: your company is credited in return, for example on our website or at events. Talk to your accountant about how it's treated for tax, and see Partnerships to get started.
How will my donation be used?
On our work with young people: kit, materials, venues, travel and mentor training. If you'd like to know how your gift was spent, just ask and we'll tell you.
Can my business donate or match-fund?
Yes, we'd love that. Businesses can donate or match-fund staff giving. See Partnerships or get in touch.
Can I donate equipment instead?
Yes. Laptops, tablets and STEM kit go straight into sessions. See other ways to support.
Can I give anonymously?
Of course. Tell us when you pledge and we won't name you anywhere.
